Great question my friend, well the part about who I am mostly. I'll save the story about this picture for some other time.
My name is Jim Young and for almost a decade now I have been in and around the health and fitness realm. There hasn't been to many hats that I haven't worn, from being a personal trainer to a nutrition consultant to selling supplements for a nation wide chain. I'm sure you can figure out which one, there are only three red letters.
However, my true passion, has been and seems will always be to write and talk about all things health and fitness. I consider myself part amateur researcher and part guinea pig. By the way, research does not include a simple google search or using wikipedia to find out your answers. As a science nerd, it burns me to my core when people say that they have researched a topic when in fact all they have done is read a couple things off the internet.
Sorry, I rant from time to time. Back to the topic at hand.....
After finishing my undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University, my goal was to move on to a position in the electrophysiology or cardiac rehab field. But alas, my heart pulled me into a different direction. Because of my insatiable appetite for knowledge, I have re-entered academia (to pursue a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology) with the intent on feeding that appetite. This time, the goal (and hopefully the outcome) will be different.
The Mission:
To discover, learn, re-create, and implement concepts that help you attain your goals that are practical and useful.
Sounds really cliche, and I have to admit, I feel silly saying it. The truth of the matter is, there is tons of information out there and who has time to figure out what is useful and not useful? Who has time to try and read, decipher, and implement that information?
